I am Dr. Mary Howard, President of the newly chartered Terre Haute Wabash Valley Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. We have been asked “what is the meaning behind your chapter name?” Our chapter is in Indiana, centrally located in the beautiful Wabash Valley. We are in Terre Haute which is in Vigo County and our service area includes the counties of Posey, Gibson, Clay, Sullivan, Vermillion, Parke, Greene, Putnam, Owen, Knox, Daviess, Martin, Fountain, Tippecanoe, and Warren. There was a need for many years to have a chapter in this area and we are excited to focus on voter empowerment, political awareness, food insecurity, scholarships, and education. Feel free to peruse our website for programs, fundraisers, and information about our chapter as well as the members.
